47th Annual Membership Dinner - March 24 
6:00 - 8:30 pm

LWA's annual membership dinner is a great time for camaraderie and reflection on our recent accomplishments in conservation.  Contact the LWA office for more information.



PA F&B Basic Boating Course - March 25 
8:00 am - 4:00 pm

The PA Fish & Boat Commission will be holding a FREE, 8 hour Basic Boating Course at the Nimick Family Education Center on March 25, 2017.  The Course is a National Association of State Boating Law Administrators approved course that will meet the legal requirements for PA and any state that accept NASBLA approved courses.  Individuals who successfully complete the course will be able to request their Boating Education Certificate.  Certificates are required to operate a personal watercraft as well as boats powered by moters greater than 25 horsepower anywhere in PA.  Taking the course is good for your lifetime and is recommended for all boaters interested in safe boating.  Additional information on the course can be found at: http://www.fishandboat.com/Boat/BoatingCourses/Pages/default.aspx.

Earth Day Community Cleanups - April 22 
9:00 am - Noon

Volunteers are needed for two annual roadside cleanup events in celebration of Earth Day 2017!  In Latrobe, join your neighbors to help clean up litter along Route 30 E/W and portions of Route 981.  In Ligonier, over 50 miles of state and township roadways will be spruced up in this spring cleaning event.  Contact Josh Penatzer at (724) 238-7560, ext 2# for more details on how you can participate in either of these great community cleanups!



4th Annual Loyalhanna Sojourn - May 20 
9:00 am start

Paddle 9 miles of the Loyalhanna Creek from the Cardinal Park launch in Latrobe to the newly improved Ballfield launch in New Alexandria.  Register online at www.latroberecreation.org.



Annual Low Country Boil - June 4 
2:00 - 4:00 pm

We've got a pot and all the fixin's at this fun summer kick-off event!  Join your friends for a casual afternoon under the tent in the Ligonier Country Market field featuring a festive crab boil and live bluegrass music.  Contact the LWA office for more details.



33rd Annual Art Auction Benefit - November 4 
6:00 pm

LWA's largest fundraiser, the annual art auction features original pieces from talented local and national artists with an emphasis on wildlife and nature.  Held at the Barn at Ligonier Valley, the event boasts live entertainment, delectible food and silent and live auctions.  For additional information, contact the LWA office.
