Join Wilma Light of the Bluebird Society of PA, for an informative program on the Eastern Bluebird, including an opportunity to make your own bluebird house to attract these colorful thrushes to your home. The program will be held in the Nimick Family Education Center at the Watershed Farm.

Join Tammy Colt, co-author of PA Amphibians and Reptiles: A Curriculum Guide, to learn all about one of the earliest frogs to emerge with the changing seasons, who make their presence well known - the spring peeper! This exciting FREE program is appropriate for all ages and includes a wetland tour to see these tiny vocalists up close. Be sure to wear appropriate shoes as they may get a little muddy. All other supplies will be provided.

Celebrate Earth Day 2026 by volunteering for our annual roadside cleanup! Individuals and groups of all ages are able to participate in this springtime Ligonier community event. This year, in celebration of America's 250th Anniversary, our goal is to collectively pick up 250 bags of litter! The Annual Loyalhanna Sojourn is a great day on the water!  As in past events, the event will begin at the Cardinal Park launch in Latrobe and continue 9 miles downstream to the take out launch at Gray Wing Park in New Alexandria.  Paddlers of all ages and levels of experience are welcome to attend this one-day float! 

Registration cost is $25 per person and includes event insurance, shuttle transportation, refreshments and a commemorative t-shirt.  Register online at www.latroberecreation.org.

In celebration of an incredible 55 Years of Conservation, all are invited to attend a FREE community picnic at the Watershed Farm! Play a round of mini-golf with Steel City Mobile Mini Golf, visit with some of our area partners, take a hike around the Wetland Loop Trail and enjoy some delicious food from local vendors! A special way to say thanks to YOU for all you DO!

We are excited to host our first ever Loyalhanna TimberFest, celebrating the vast history and mystery of our local timber and forestry industry, featuring the one and only Pennsylvania WoodMobile!  The 34-foot  WoodMobile is a great way for people to learn about the state's forest industry. You can learn about the history of forests, threats like bugs and diseases, and even touch different types of wood. It also shows how forest products are made. In addition, we are pleased to host partners from DCNR-Forbes State Forest, the Westmoreland Woodlands Improvement Association, PA Master Naturalists and others.
